Fresh News Perspective

Editorial policy

Fresh News Perspective aims to make news easier to examine without pretending that every question has a neat answer. We value accuracy, independence, clear attribution and honest treatment of uncertainty.

Accuracy and sources

We check factual statements against appropriate, identifiable material before publication and give readers enough context to understand what a source does and does not support. We distinguish fact, interpretation and opinion, and avoid presenting an allegation or inference as established fact. When a subject is changing, we make the limits of what is known clear.

Independence and interests

Editorial decisions are made for the value and relevance of the subject to readers. Commercial relationships do not buy favourable editorial treatment. Where a relationship or interest could reasonably affect how material is read, we disclose it clearly alongside the relevant content.

Corrections

If a published piece contains a material error, we review the concern and correct the text when warranted. We make meaningful changes clear to readers rather than silently rewriting the record. Send correction requests through the Contact page with the article details and the point in question.

Partners and paid material

Paid placements, sponsored pieces and other partner material are identified plainly where they appear, so readers can distinguish them from independent editorial work. Partner arrangements do not determine our conclusions or editorial coverage.

Our point of view

A story is more than its headline

News can clarify a complicated moment, but every account has limits. We look closely at sourcing, framing and what is known so far.
