Fresh News Perspective welcomes pitches that help readers understand how news works, from sourcing and framing to context, formats and the handling of uncertainty.
What to pitch
Propose an original, focused piece that gives readers a useful way to examine news coverage. Strong ideas explain a clear concept, compare approaches or show how a reading habit works. We are interested in thoughtful, self-contained subjects that do not depend on invented examples, unsupported claims or specialist advice.
A useful proposal
Tell us the working title, the central idea, the intended reader and what the piece will help that reader notice. Include a brief outline and relevant experience if it helps us assess the proposal. Please flag any potential conflict of interest and identify factual claims that would need careful sourcing.
How to send it
Send proposals through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. A pitch is a proposal, not a commission; please wait for a response before preparing a full piece. We may edit accepted work for clarity, accuracy and length, with any substantive changes handled carefully.
A story is more than its headline
News can clarify a complicated moment, but every account has limits. We look closely at sourcing, framing and what is known so far.
